Bryan DeWees, better known as “WEEZY", has been a skating instructor for over 10 years. Bryan is the Director of Player Development for Weezy’s Competitive Edge Skating. He brings a new EDGE when developing hockey programs in Minnesota. Players train with Weezy because of his unique teaching style, personal rapport, inventive drills and skating background. He combines his knowledge and skills to help players move to a more advanced level of play. He knows the game of hockey and the importance of skating technique. Bryan has trained players in the NHL, AHL, NCAA Division I, NCAA Division III, USHL, NAHL and High School. He has his level 3 certification with USA Hockey coaching education program. He finds it rewarding to watch his players develop in all areas of their game.
Player Development Trainer
TJ’s experience on the ice ranges from playing Division 1 hockey at Mankato State, professional hockey in the US and over 10 years professional hockey in Europe. During his off season he enjoys coming back to Minnesota to train young hockey players. TJ has worked with well known hockey training companies, University Camps and Elite scouting camp.TJ brings his specaility of stick handling and shooting to our programs and private lessons. Competitive Edge is excited to announce that TJ will be a Head Instructor with Competitive Edge.
From Rochester, Minnesota, Jake Taylor will bring his professional defense skills and experience to Competitive Edge. In 2002 the New York Rangers drafted Taylor #177 in the 6th round. Jake loves working with kids and is excited to become an instructor with Competitive Edge.

Neuro Explosion was founded by Jim Snider – Strength and Conditioning Coach for Badger Hockey. Jim has spent the past 6 seasons as the Men’s and Women’s Hockey Strength and Conditioning Coach. Jim has coached Olympians, Stanley Cup winners, Hobey Baker and Patty Kazmaier winners, National Champions, NHL veterans, NHL rookies, and National Level Olympic Weightlifters. Snider spends his off-season preparing athletes of the NHL and AHL for their demanding upcoming seasons.
Jim is a member of several organizations including the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCC), and USA Weightlifting. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, Level II Senior Coach through USA Weightlifting, and also a certified and active referee through USA Weightlifting. Jim is an active speaker for many local and international conferences speaking on a wide variety of topics including: Dryland Training for Hockey, Speed Development and Sports Supplementation.
Jenna is currently the Lead Sports Performance Specialist for Neuro Explosion. Jenna's credentials include a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from East Tennessee State University where she also managed the Sports Performance Laboratory. Jenna has also spent a number of years evaluating high level professional hockey athletes, working with the CHL, AHL and NHL. Jenna is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, High School Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a National Level athlete in Olympic Style Weightlifting. She currently holds the Wisconsin State records in the Snatch, Clean & Jerk, and total for the 63K weight class and is a nationally ranked Olympic Lifter. She currently works with a wide variety of athletes at Neuro Explosion from the youth to the collegiate level.
