    Summer Skating Class

    Weezy’s Skating class is an on–ice program focusing on skating specific skills. While most players are taught the final product of the skating stride, this program will start at the beginning. Skating skills need to be broken down into the individual dynamics and repeatedly practiced. If a player can learn how the muscles should work, they will train their body to do it correctly. Over time this will improve their all around speed and skating ability. This one of a kind class combines a Power Skating and a Speed Class into one!

    Chose your weeks you train!

    Our summer classes are 6 weeks long, training 2 times a week. Players have the option to train 4, 5 or 6 weeks for each class. Do both classes and receive a mulitple class discount.

    Summer S & S Class

    Not only do players want their shots to hit harder and faster, they want to see a quick release with more accuracy. During the Stickhandling & Shooting Class our professional instructors will teach proper technique to improve overall form.

    All shots will be followed with game situation drills. This will help to apply each shot with enough repetition for our instructors to make corrections.

    Beginnings: Derek Stepan

     

    Watch and learn about Derek Stepan's road to becoming an NHL Player with the NY Rangers. Derek has trained with Weezy for 7 years and built a very special bond. Beginnings, a TV show from New York, came to film Derek and interview the important people in his life. Hear from Weezy about his experience as he trained Derek to help him achieve his dream.

    Madison Training Development Program

      

    Competitive Edge is now training in Wisconsin!

     

     The Madison Training Development Program (TDP) is designed to develop player’s individual skills. On-Ice training will focus on hockey skills in a fun, high energy atmosphere. TDP is an on-ice and off-ice program with games to execute skills learned during training. Games will be organized and run by Madison Ice Inc (MII).

     

    TDP will consist of a Spring Session and a Fall Session in 2012

    Weezy’s Competitive Edge Skating has partnered with McDonald Eye Care. Contact McDonald Eye Care to learn about what Sports Vision Training can do for your athlete in sports and academics.

    Sports Vision Training

     

     McDonald Eye Care is trained in Sports Vision Training for players in a group or individual setting. Sports Vision Training is a great tool to get your player to the next level in sports and in academics. We believe in Sports Vision Training and the benefit that it has to athletes.  They have different sports vision trianing programs to choose from. Below is an example of programs they offer.

    2012 PRIVATE LESSONS

    We are now offering outdoor private lessons! If your player is interested please email us directly.

    Private Lessons will be held at various rinks in the metro area. 

    Private lessons can be in 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions. Private lessons consist of 1 to 4 players, and can be customized for your players needs. Private lessons are available for 1 lesson if your player needs to freshen up or several lessons to work in more detail on your players skating, shooting or puck handling.

    I can tell anyone that wants to enhance there skating stride that there is no one in the state better than Bryan DeWees. He has worked with my 20 year old son for the last 5 years and Derek Stepan will tell you to a man that he would not be in the NHL without the expertise of Bryan DeWees. The thing that separates Bryan from the rest, is he can work with NHL players and he can also work with our local youth players. If you want to become a better hockey player/skater. There is no one better than the man we know as "Weezy"!!!!
